About this role

Clēnera's summer accounting internship offers undergraduates a structured entry point into renewable energy finance at a rapidly scaling company. Over twelve weeks starting May or June 2027, you'll work in-office in Boise on core accounting functions—account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, and financial statement preparation—under the guidance of senior accounting professionals. The role sits within a complex organizational structure managing utility-scale solar and storage projects across 23 states, so the work you support directly connects to real financial operations at scale.

Success in this internship requires solid grounding in accounting principles, proficiency with Excel and accounting software, and the self-motivation to handle detail-oriented work during compressed close cycles. You should be comfortable identifying discrepancies, asking questions, and adapting as procedures change. The internship also emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and alignment with Clēnera's stated values of being caring, committed, and courageous—traits the company prioritizes in its culture.

This is a paid opportunity best suited for accounting students entering their final year who want hands-on exposure to how a major renewable energy producer manages its books, rather than a role focused on learning fundamentals from scratch.
