As a Receiving Officer within our Purchasing team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring goods and supplies are received, checked, stored and distributed accurately across the hotel.
From inspecting deliveries and maintaining stock areas to coordinating with departments and suppliers, your organisation and attention to detail will help keep hotel operations running smoothly from behind the scenes.
What You’ll Do
In this hands-on role, you will:
- Receive, inspect and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Ensure goods are accurate, undamaged and meet required quality and freshness standards.
- Refuse and report damaged, incorrect or unacceptable items when required.
- Stage, organise and distribute goods to the appropriate hotel departments.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the relevant manager when supplies are running low.
- Complete receiving, inventory and requisition documentation accurately.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised receiving, storage, refrigerator and freezer areas.
- Assist with stock movement, pallet handling and general storeroom organisation.
- Follow food safety, workplace health and safety, security and Marriott International procedures at all times.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Finance, Culinary, Food & Beverage and other hotel departments to support efficient operations.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Confidence checking deliveries, invoices and stock documentation.
- The ability to manage multiple deliveries and priorities in a busy environment.
- A practical, hands-on approach and strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
- Understanding of safe manual handling and stock storage practices.
- Previous experience in receiving, purchasing, warehousing, stores, logistics or hospitality is advantageous but not essential.
- Flexibility to work according to the operational needs of the hotel.
Licences & Checks
- A current forklift licence is highly beneficial.
- Candidates who do not currently hold a forklift licence will be required to obtain one following commencement, as required for the role.
- The successful candidate will also be required to complete a Police Check as part of the employment requirements.

About this role
AC by Marriott Gold Coast is launching a new hotel on the Gold Coast, and this Receiving Officer role sits at the operational heart of that launch. You'll be responsible for inspecting and processing all incoming deliveries, verifying them against purchase orders, checking quality and condition, and then distributing goods to the right departments. The work is hands-on and varied—you'll manage stock areas, handle pallet movements, maintain storage facilities, and keep detailed records. It's a role where accuracy and organisation directly impact how smoothly the entire hotel runs.
The ideal candidate has a practical mindset, strong attention to detail, and experience in receiving, warehousing, logistics or hospitality (though this isn't essential). You'll need to stay flexible with priorities in a busy environment, communicate well across departments, and understand safe manual handling and storage. A current forklift licence is highly beneficial; if you don't have one, you'll be required to obtain it after starting. You'll also need to pass a Police Check.
