About this role

Forge Biologics is seeking an experienced quality leader to step into a hands-on supervisory role within their AAV gene therapy manufacturing operation in Columbus. You'd oversee a junior QA team while serving as a quality resource embedded in the cleanroom environment, making data-driven decisions on product compliance and process issues as they arise. This position bridges technical expertise and people leadership—you'll mentor team members on document control and batch record review while collaborating across manufacturing, process development, and analytics to drive continuous improvement and maintain cGMP standards.

The role demands at least six years of pharma or biotech QA experience, a solid grasp of FDA and EU regulations, and proven success mentoring others. You'll manage batch record approvals, support deviation investigations and root cause analysis, oversee documentation control, and help prepare for regulatory audits. Comfort with electronic quality systems (ideally Veeva Vault) and Microsoft Office is essential. Because this is a second-shift position with on-call responsibilities, you'll need flexibility to support manufacturing needs outside standard hours and willingness to work in the cleanroom in full PPE when needed.

This role suits someone with direct cGMP cleanroom QA experience, ideally with biologics or gene therapy background, who thrives in fast-paced environments and finds purpose in supporting life-changing therapies. If you have CDMO experience or internal audit involvement, that's a plus.
