About this role
OCMI's Cost Estimator role in Las Vegas focuses on electrical systems estimating within a construction management firm that has grown significantly since its 1982 founding. You'd spend your time preparing and reviewing cost estimates and quantity takeoffs, interpreting construction documents, and using takeoff software to develop detailed cost models that align with client goals. The work involves researching vendors, maintaining cost data accuracy, and ensuring quality control before presenting estimates to clients—all with an emphasis on clear communication across written, verbal, and graphic formats.
The position suits someone with one to three years of cost estimating experience in vertical construction, though the company values learning and growth as much as existing expertise. You'll need proficiency with takeoff software like On-Screen Takeoff, solid Excel skills, and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. A construction, engineering, or architecture degree is preferred, or equivalent trade experience can substitute.
Working hybrid from the Las Vegas office, you'd join a privately held firm that emphasizes team support and community impact. The salary range is $85,000 to $105,000, with standard benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a 401(k) match; and paid time off. The role offers genuine opportunity to develop your estimating skills within a company culture that prioritizes both professional growth and workplace flexibility.
