About this role
Trilon Group is looking for a mid-level Traffic Engineer to take meaningful ownership of transportation design projects across highways, interchanges, and intersections. You'd handle the full scope of signing, striping, and maintenance of traffic design—from initial analysis through plan preparation and specifications—while working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and clients. This is a role where you'd grow from individual contributor to technical specialist, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and lead traffic discussions with stakeholders.
The position suits someone with 4 to 8 years of traffic engineering experience, a PE license, and solid proficiency in industry software like MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and SignCAD. You'll need hands-on knowledge of DOT standards and design criteria, plus familiarity with traffic modeling tools like Synchro or Vissim. Strong communication and organizational skills matter as much as technical depth—you'll be coordinating across disciplines and managing client relationships.
Trilon Group offers a competitive salary ($90,000–$125,000), comprehensive health and retirement benefits, generous PTO, and professional development support. The hybrid arrangement is based in Pleasant Grove, Utah. An unusual perk: any hours over 40 per week can be paid out or banked as additional time off, and the role is eligible for a sign-on bonus.
