About this role
Trilon Group is looking for a mid-level Traffic Engineer to take on meaningful design ownership across signing, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic for highway and intersection projects throughout the region. If you have 4+ years in traffic engineering with a PE license and solid experience in design software like MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and SignCAD, this role offers the chance to expand your technical depth while working on real infrastructure that affects community safety and mobility. You'd prepare plans and specifications with minimal oversight, lead traffic discussions with clients and stakeholders, and gradually take on mentoring responsibilities within the team.
The position is hybrid-based in Riverdale and sits at the intersection of technical execution and collaboration—you'll coordinate across project managers, design engineers, and clients while maintaining high standards for accuracy and detail. The salary range of $90,000 to $125,000 reflects mid-level responsibility, and Trilon's comp time policy lets you convert overtime into additional pay or PTO. Standard benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, professional development support, and paid licensure maintenance, plus a sign-on bonus for the right candidate.
This role suits someone ready to move beyond junior-level work, comfortable with transportation design standards and DOT procedures, and motivated by the prospect of growing professionally through varied project types while contributing to a collaborative engineering team.
