About this role

Kairos Power is recruiting service members through the Skillbridge program to train as Electrical Technologists in their Albuquerque facility. This is a hands-on role supporting the development and testing of advanced nuclear reactor technology, where you'll learn on the job while contributing to real engineering projects from day one.

The work spans assembly, wiring, instrumentation, and maintenance of electrical and electromechanical systems used in testing environments. You'll install and terminate wiring for sensors and data acquisition equipment, assemble and debug custom-built components like power supplies and control devices, perform acceptance testing on new installations, and troubleshoot equipment as needed. You'll also support day-to-day facility operations, handle preventative maintenance, and work closely with engineers to implement design iterations and collect test data. The role demands precision, attention to detail, and comfort with heavy equipment operation, working in shop and outdoor environments, and managing tasks in tight spaces.

No prior experience is required—this is genuinely a training program. You should be comfortable with hand tools, willing to learn multiple processes, and able to follow technical procedures and safety protocols rigorously. Background in mechanical or industrial work, electrical systems, or instrumentation is a plus, but the core requirement is motivation to develop practical skills and work collaboratively with an engineering team on meaningful projects.
