Description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.

SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Driver to oversee delivery and material transport operations supporting data center construction and operations in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and damage-free movement of high-value materials and equipment (including servers, networking gear, power systems, cooling infrastructure, and other critical components) between warehouses, vendor sites, and data center locations. You will combine hands-on driving and loading duties with route coordination and compliance oversight in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load, drive, and unload materials using commercial vehicles (tractors, trailers, vans, and flatbeds) while meeting all federal, state, and local transportation requirements
  • Safely load and unload trucks at pickup and drop-off points, primarily using forklifts; ensure loads are properly secured for undamaged delivery
  • Scan barcodes and transact material movements in the WMS/ERP to meet inventory and receiving requirements
  • Take route direction from logistics leadership and communicate issues, delays, or exceptions promptly to supervisors and affected teams
  • Maintain and review all required delivery documentation; ensure paperwork accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor vehicle condition, service records, cleanliness, and fueling; report problems immediately
  • Operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and maintain a safe driving record
  • Support receiving, material handling, and inventory operations as needed
  • Drive process improvements for efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • 3+ years of commercial driving experience (short-haul required; long-haul preferred)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in expediting, material handling, or high-volume manufacturing/data center logistics
  • Experience with barcode scanning and ERP/WMS systems
  • Experience operating a forklift and other material-handling equipment
  • Experience transporting high-value or sensitive equipment
  • Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) or ability to obtain
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and maintain high safety and compliance standards
  • Must be able to work one of the following shifts:
    • Shift C: 6:00 PM - 6:30AM (Sunday - Wednesday)
    • Shift D: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (Wednesday - Saturday)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed to support project timelines
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Willingness to work in warehouse and outdoor environments that may include varying temperatures, noise, and dust
  • Must maintain a clean driving record and comply with all DOT and company safety policies

About this role

SpaceXAI is building AI infrastructure to advance scientific understanding, and this driver role sits at the operational core of that mission—moving the servers, networking equipment, and critical systems that power data center construction and operations in Memphis. You'll handle high-value, sensitive equipment across multiple locations, combining hands-on driving and loading with real logistics coordination. The work is physical and demanding: loading and unloading trucks with forklifts, scanning inventory into the WMS system, managing route exceptions, and maintaining compliance with DOT standards—all on a night shift schedule (either Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday, 6 PM to 6:30 AM).

This role suits someone with at least three years of commercial driving experience who's comfortable with both the technical side of logistics (ELDs, barcode systems, delivery documentation) and the operational side (coordinating with supervisors, flagging delays, driving process improvements). You'll need a valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record. Forklift certification, experience with high-value or sensitive cargo, and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems are valuable. The company operates with a flat structure and expects hands-on contribution, so initiative and clear communication matter as much as technical compliance.

The position demands physical stamina—lifting 40–50 lbs regularly, standing and walking for long periods in warehouse and outdoor conditions—and flexibility for overtime and weekend work as project timelines require. If you thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments and want to work nights supporting critical infrastructure, this is worth considering.
