About this role

Network Building + Consulting is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to lead its Survey and Right-of-Way Department from the Baltimore office. You would report to the Engineering Market Manager and oversee all aspects of survey and ROW operations—from field crew management and quality control to GIS integration, data management, and engineering basemap development. The role spans diverse project types including telecommunications, utilities, EV infrastructure, and fiber networks, requiring you to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of survey deliverables while establishing scalable departmental standards.

This position demands a Professional Land Surveyor license, a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible surveying experience, and proven expertise supervising field crews and coordinating office-field operations. You'll need strong technical knowledge across boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS standards, ROW and title research, utility coordination, and modern survey technologies—from GNSS and robotic total stations to UAV and LiDAR. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro/Online, and survey-processing software like Trimble Business Center or Carlson is preferred. Beyond technical execution, you'll mentor staff, manage subcontractors, evaluate and implement emerging technologies, and support business development through proposal and scope work.

The role suits a surveyor ready to move into departmental leadership, with solid grounding in boundary law, public records research, and project management. If you have experience in telecommunications or utility corridors, ROW interpretation, and developing departmental workflows, this is a direct fit for growing a surveying practice at a firm working across major carriers and infrastructure providers nationwide.
