About this role
OKX is looking for a senior compliance professional to lead product reviews across its crypto exchange and wallet platforms. In this hands-on individual-contributor role, you'll assess new products, features, and material changes against a complex regulatory landscape—distinguishing between hard legal blockers, manageable risks, and issues requiring escalation. You'll work directly with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Risk teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions that protect the firm's position while enabling viable commercial outcomes.
The role demands at least eight years of compliance, legal, or risk experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or crypto, with substantial hands-on expertise in product compliance and regulatory advisory. You'll need strong knowledge of digital-asset products (trading, custody, staking, wallets, DeFi) and relevant compliance areas including licensing, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, and market conduct. Beyond technical compliance knowledge, the position values pragmatic judgment—the ability to balance rigor with commercial reality—and proven skill in building repeatable processes, managing concurrent projects, and communicating clearly across technical and business teams.
Based in San Jose and full-time in-office, this role offers a salary range of $200,000 to $300,000. It suits someone who thrives as a trusted advisor within product development cycles, can document and defend risk decisions, and is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving regulatory environment.
