About this role

Nashville Zoo's Events Office Assistant role is the operational backbone of the events department—you'd be the central hub managing the reservation calendar, coordinating with internal teams and external clients, and ensuring every detail reaches the right person at the right time. As the Birthday Party Booking Agent, you'd handle client contracting, scheduling, and upselling while training and supervising party hosts. The position blends administrative work (calendar maintenance, data entry, office organization) with hands-on event execution, from coordinating musician bookings to supervising sponsorship activations and assisting with public programming.

This is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with event or customer service internship experience who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and can work independently. You'll need strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Excel and Word, and the flexibility to work Tuesday through Saturday with occasional nights and overtime. The role also requires physical capability—you'll work outdoors year-round in varying weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate golf carts.

The position offers full-time benefits including healthcare, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and zoo perks, at a salary of $17–$18 per hour. It's a solid entry point into events management at an AZA-accredited organization with a clear mission around wildlife and conservation.
