About this role

Leading payroll operations at a health technology company, this role sits at the intersection of people management and technical expertise. You'd oversee a team of Payroll Analysts while owning the full spectrum of payroll delivery—from processing and reconciliations to tax compliance and year-end activities. The position demands someone equally comfortable coaching staff and diving into complex payroll calculations, garnishments, multi-state tax requirements, and system troubleshooting with HRIS partners.

The ideal candidate brings at least five years of progressive payroll experience with two years managing payroll professionals, ideally on enterprise platforms like UKG. You'll need strong grounding in wage and hour law, payroll taxation, and controls, plus the analytical rigor to catch discrepancies before they reach employees. This is a role for someone who can balance accuracy with efficiency, handle competing deadlines, and translate payroll complexity for stakeholders across HR, Finance, Accounting, and Benefits.

Based in Charlotte with a hybrid schedule (at least three days weekly in office), the position offers a salary range of $103,200–$129,000 and reports to the Director of HR Operations. A CPP or FPC certification is preferred, though not required.
