About this role
F. Schumacher & Co.'s design studio in New York needs someone to manage the operational backbone of day-to-day work. You'd handle vendor coordination and meeting scheduling, process invoices through their Kwick Tag portal, maintain studio organization and sample filing, and support the product approval process by cutting fabric samples and managing shipments. Beyond the core administrative work, you'd also organize trade shows, coordinate travel and expenses for studio directors, manage subscriptions, and handle everything from stationery orders to studio social events.
This role suits someone with strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Smartsheet experience is expected) and ideally some background in project or data management and invoice handling. You'll need to be detail-oriented, comfortable working independently while juggling multiple priorities, and genuinely willing to tackle whatever the studio needs—whether that's organizing a holiday dinner or setting up scrap fabric collections. The position is part-time in-office in New York, with a salary range of $30,000 to $36,000 annually.
