About this role
Frontier Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant for a temporary 90–120 day assignment at their Portland clinic, with occasional travel to Gresham (mileage covered). You'll work varied Monday–Thursday schedules from 7:30am to 5:00pm, supporting dermatology providers across a multi-location practice spanning Oregon and Washington. The role involves rooming patients, assisting with procedures, patient education, and routine clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
You'll need either formal MA training (accredited program graduate, CMA, RMA, or Certified Derm Tech) or a high school diploma plus 1–3 months of related healthcare experience. The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and genuine customer service ability—the practice emphasizes community, accountability, respect, empathy, integrity, and service excellence as core values. This is a good fit if you're comfortable with variety in your daily tasks and want exposure to dermatology specifically.
The temporary role includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision with HSA/FSA options), employer-matched 401k up to 4%, employer-paid life insurance, eight paid holidays, tiered PTO accrual, complimentary parking, and an Employee Assistance Program. This would suit someone exploring dermatology as a specialty or needing short-term work with solid benefits and the possibility of extension based on clinic needs.
