About this role
Openwork is seeking a Growth Operations Director to serve as a hands-on leader across its staffing markets, working directly with regional and market leaders to diagnose performance issues, strengthen execution, and drive growth. You'll split your time between strategic analysis—evaluating metrics across sales, recruiting, service delivery, and profitability—and on-the-ground support, stepping into markets when leadership gaps, operational challenges, or stabilization efforts are needed. The role involves coaching market teams, developing leaders, implementing new systems and processes, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives, with travel comprising 25–50% of your time.
This position suits someone with at least five years of leadership experience who has successfully managed P&Ls, improved team performance, and led through organizational change. You should be equally comfortable with data-driven decision-making and direct people leadership—able to analyze root causes and then coach teams to execute solutions. Strong problem-solving, relationship-building, and project management skills are essential, as is a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work alongside market teams to address complex client, talent, and operational challenges.
Openwork positions this as more than a typical operations role: you'd be helping shape a high-growth, independently owned staffing company that values fresh thinking and collaborative problem-solving. The company offers competitive base salary with commission or bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, generous PTO, and a culture centered on accountability and shared growth.
