About this role
Motive's Brand Studio is looking for a design leader to oversee brand expression across a fast-growing fleet operations platform serving nearly 100,000 customers. You'd manage a globally distributed design team while setting creative direction for campaigns, brand systems, and integrated marketing work—balancing hands-on design work with mentorship and strategic leadership across North America and Pakistan time zones.
The role demands someone with 7+ years of design experience and at least 2 years managing designers, with a strong portfolio in identity design, brand systems, and campaign work. You'll need deep Figma expertise, proven ability to build scalable design processes, and confidence presenting creative strategy to executives. This is as much about evolving how the Brand Studio operates—developing systems, workflows, and AI-assisted creative tools—as it is about designing individual campaigns.
You'd be a fit if you thrive working across time zones, can mentor designers while staying creatively hands-on, and want to shape both a brand's visual identity and the operational systems that let a growing team scale without losing craft or consistency. The position is hybrid in San Francisco, with compensation between $171,000 and $236,000 depending on experience and location.
