Description
Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
The Figma Research team is hiring an experienced researcher to support our core product, Figma Design, and actively shape and execute research to drive scale, tap new opportunities, and ensure Figma continues pushing innovation in design and production tooling. Partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering, you'll bring a deep passion for research and strategy, pushing the envelope with AI-led experiences and laddering key user needs to critical product decisions — tackling our highest impact problems and influencing company strategy for both the short- and long-term.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
- Help Figma grow and innovate by delivering strategic research and recommendations and materially influencing the vision and strategy for Figma Design
- Partner closely with product leaders to identify opportunities, generate strategy, and define success
- Break down complex business challenges into clear research plans; own the end to end research process and leverage strong storytelling skills to deliver meaningful impact to Figma's businesses
- Translate research insights into a compelling narrative that shapes product roadmap priorities
- Advocate for the role of Research as a strategic partner in the business process
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 7+ years of experience in UX research or user insights at a high growth B2B SaaS company
- Expertise in utilizing a variety of research methodologies, including both qualitative and quantitative techniques, to address product challenges spanning from opportunity identification, concept testing, to feature iterations — including research on AI-powered features or products exploring AI applications
- Demonstrated success in identifying assumptions that underpin key challenges, prioritizing the most critical assumptions, and creating right sized research approaches to test those critical assumptions
- A proven track record of gaining buy in from executive stakeholders and cross disciplinary partners, transcending mere research mechanics and findings to articulate a larger user story, and the "so what" to inspire action
- Ability to balance speed, rigor, and competing inputs — pivoting direction, weighing user research, strategy, business insights, and team input in decision-making, and seeking solutions in creative ways
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
- 2+ years in product design, user centric product management, product development, and/or front end engineering
- A familiarity and depth of experience using Figma's products

About this role
Figma's Research team is looking for an experienced researcher to drive strategy and insights for Figma Design, the company's core product. You'd partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to identify opportunities, design research plans, and translate findings into narratives that shape product decisions—with particular focus on AI-powered features and how they serve design teams. This role sits at the intersection of user research and business strategy, requiring you to break down complex challenges, test critical assumptions, and build buy-in across executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of UX research experience in B2B SaaS, with demonstrated skill across qualitative and quantitative methods and a track record of influencing high-stakes decisions. You'll need strong storytelling ability to move beyond findings to the "so what"—the larger user story that inspires action. The role also demands comfort balancing speed and rigor while juggling competing inputs and pivoting as needed. Experience in product design, product management, or front-end engineering, or familiarity with Figma's own products, would be valuable additions.
