About this role
Atakapa Services operates vacuum trucks that service municipal sewer and storm drain infrastructure across Alabama and beyond. As a Vac Truck Helper, you'd work alongside an operator to safely collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, sludge, and other materials from these systems. The role demands physical capability—lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and working outdoors in all weather—plus a solid grasp of safety protocols and willingness to follow environmental and health regulations closely.
Day-to-day work includes pre- and post-trip equipment inspections, routine maintenance on the trucks, accurate job documentation, and coordination with your team and clients. You may also be called on for emergency response during spills, accidents, or disaster situations like hurricanes. While prior vacuum truck experience and a CDL are pluses, neither is required to start. What matters most is reliability, teamwork, and the physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.
Trilon Group offers competitive pay between $16 and $21 per hour, health and dental coverage, a retirement plan, paid time off, and a stated commitment to work-life balance. The company emphasizes a family-friendly environment and provides career development support, so there's room to grow if you perform well.
