Description
Your Impact at LILA
Lila is building a supply chain function, and this is the first hire into it. You will shape the discipline rather than inherit it, owning what happens to an order after it is placed: confirmation, delivery, install and commissioning.
With many active suppliers and a wide set of research and operating groups, deciding which categories earn a demand plan first, and being able to validate that choice, is a central part of the work.
You will work alongside the Procurement team, Category Managers and the Procurement Specialist, so that the supplier relationship, the order and the delivery picture become one end-to-end view rather than three separate ones.
What You'll Be Building
- Build an order tracking system from placement through install and commissioning, designed to migrate into a future ERP.
- Lead and coordinate the supply chain ERP proposal process.
- Own the long-lead item list and make lead times the business can plan around.
- Work down aging open orders and give Finance a clean view of supply commitments.
- Prioritize which categories earn a demand plan and build consumption-based demand signals.
- Size blanket orders to planned build activity and stand up a parts-on-hand model with FP&A.
- Run the delivery and capacity cadence with strategic partners, escalating when dates move.
- Partner with Procurement, Facilities, Lab Operations and Hardware & Controls on receiving and install readiness.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Three to six years in supply chain, demand or materials planning, or order management.
- Track record of owning delivery dates end to end.
- Judgement to prioritize what gets planned, and to defend that order.
- Strong spreadsheet and data skills, translating transactional data into a supply chain view.
- Experience coordinating across suppliers, freight and internal receiving.
- Comfortable with shifting priorities in an early-stage function.
- Comfort building from nothing, starting simple rather than perfect.
Bonus Points For
- Smartsheet or comparable workflow tools.
- Capital equipment installation and commissioning coordination.
- Scientific instruments, lab consumables or another regulated environment.
- ERP planning module implementation such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or Dynamics.
- Exposure to import, customs or export control.
Compensation
We offer competitive base compensation with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity. Your final offer will reflect your background, expertise, and expected impact.

About this role
Lila Sciences is building its supply chain function from the ground up, and this role is the first hire into it—meaning you'll shape the discipline rather than follow an established playbook. You'll own the complete order lifecycle from placement through delivery, install, and commissioning across many active suppliers and research groups. The work involves building an order tracking system designed to migrate into a future ERP, establishing lead time visibility the business can rely on, prioritizing which product categories need demand planning first, and creating a unified end-to-end view that currently exists as separate pieces across Procurement, Finance, and operations.
Success in this role requires three to six years of supply chain, demand planning, or order management experience, with a demonstrated ability to own delivery dates from end to end. You'll need strong spreadsheet and data skills to translate transactional information into actionable supply chain insights, plus the judgment to defend prioritization decisions in a shifting environment. Experience coordinating across suppliers, freight, and internal receiving is essential. Bonus qualifications include familiarity with workflow tools like Smartsheet, capital equipment installation, regulated environments like scientific instruments or labs, or prior ERP implementation work.
The position is full-time and based in Cambridge, MA, with an expected salary range of $88,000 to $126,000 plus bonus potential and early-stage equity. U.S. employees receive comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-paid life and disability insurance, flexible time off, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and commuter benefits including bike share memberships.
