About this role

The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is building out its probate and estate litigation practice with a remote-based attorney who can lead complex cases across their 16 Texas locations. You'd handle contested guardianships, will contests, trust disputes, and fiduciary breach matters from intake through trial, while also drafting estate plans. This is a first-chair role—you'll command courtrooms in multiple counties, conduct mediations and depositions, and develop litigation strategy for high-stakes dockets. The firm has deliberately structured the position to let you focus purely on legal work; marketing, business development, and billing fall to dedicated teams, and you'll have an assigned paralegal and billing coordinator supporting your cases.

The role demands at least five years of specialized experience in estate planning, probate, and guardianship litigation, plus an active Texas bar license. You need courtroom credibility, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to remain composed in emotionally charged client situations. Proficiency with Clio, TxDoc, Google Suite, and e-filing systems is required; bilingual capability in English and Spanish is a significant plus. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel between offices as needed round out the practical requirements.

Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $130,000 base salary depending on experience, with bonus potential, plus standard benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, a 401(k) with up to 5% match, and generous PTO. The firm emphasizes work-life balance and hybrid flexibility while maintaining the infrastructure and resources of a larger practice without the typical business-development burden.
