Description

Company Description

Farther is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology - delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience.

Farther’s founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. We’re backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders.

Joining Farther means joining a collaborative team of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping their clients and our teammates achieve more. If you’re the type who breaks through walls to get things done the right way, we want to build the future of wealth management with you.

The Role

As a Director on our Advisor Business Development team, you'll build relationships with experienced financial advisors and teams and guide them from first conversation to signed agreement. This is a senior individual contributor seat for someone who has built pipeline the hard way, knows how to run a long sales cycle with sophisticated buyers, and wants their results reflected in their paycheck.

Your Impact

  • Source and engage established advisors and teams through targeted outbound, referrals, and your own network
  • Own the full recruiting cycle, from discovery and platform demos through transition planning and signed agreements
  • Understand each advisor's practice economics, growth goals, and client base, and tailor the Farther story to fit
  • Partner with our transitions, operations, and executive teams to deliver a smooth move for every advisor you bring on
  • Consistently deliver against annual AUM targets with accurate forecasting

The Ideal Match

  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience, with a consistent record of exceeding quota
  • You've built pipeline through your own outbound efforts, cold calling included
  • Experience running multi-stakeholder sales cycles that take months, not days
  • Motivated by a high-variable comp structure, with clear goals for your career and earnings
  • Bachelor's degree and the flexibility to travel to Dallas for priority prospect meetings

Bonus Points

  • Experience recruiting or selling to financial advisors, RIAs, or wealth management firms
  • An existing network within the independent advisor community

About this role

Farther Finance is building a modern RIA by recruiting experienced financial advisors to its platform, and they're looking for a senior business development leader to own that recruiting effort. In this Director role, you'd manage the complete sales cycle—from sourcing and engaging established advisor teams through demos, negotiations, and signed agreements. Success means consistently hitting AUM targets, understanding advisor economics deeply enough to position Farther's value proposition compellingly, and coordinating with operations and transitions teams to ensure smooth onboarding.

This is a high-variable compensation role designed for someone who thrives on owning outcomes. You'll need at least five years of proven sales or BD experience with a track record of quota attainment, comfort with long, complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, and the ability to build pipeline through your own outbound work—cold calling included. Prior experience recruiting or selling to advisors and RIAs, familiarity with custody platforms and transition economics, and an existing network in the independent advisor space would be significant advantages, though not required.

The hybrid position is based in Dallas and involves travel for key prospect meetings. Farther is venture-backed, fast-scaling, and led by fintech and wealth management veterans, offering uncapped commission potential alongside standard benefits and the opportunity to shape your role as the company grows.
