About this role

Standish Management is seeking an Engagement Manager to lead fund accounting client relationships and oversee a team supporting private equity, venture capital, real estate, and fund-of-funds clients. You'd manage multiple accounts end-to-end, handling SBA compliance reporting, capital calls and distributions, waterfall reviews, and partner statements while coaching Senior Associates and Associates through technical training and performance feedback. The role requires daily interaction with both clients and internal teams, proactive problem-solving on complex fund accounting matters, and the ability to identify operational improvements and drive efficiency.

This position suits someone with at least five years of public accounting or equivalent fund administration experience who understands partnership accounting, carried interest calculations, and fund financial statements under US GAAP. You'll need strong Excel capabilities for financial modeling and data analysis, proven leadership and delegation skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines. A CPA and familiarity with SBIC accounting or fund accounting platforms like Investran or Allvue would set you apart, though not required.

The role is full-time and based in Chicago with an in-office work arrangement. Compensation is $100,000 annually, with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), flexible vacation, disability and parental leave plans, and standard holidays including a year-end office closure.
