About this role
AFC Logistics is looking for someone to lead a fleet of 30–45 flatbed drivers in Tampa with a focus on retention, safety, and profitability. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances people management with operational oversight—you'll conduct daily check-ins and coaching, run monthly performance reviews, monitor KPIs like RPM and fuel efficiency, and serve as the main advocate for drivers across dispatch, customer service, and safety teams. The work involves keeping McLeod TMS records current, reviewing Samsara safety data, coordinating with maintenance, and collaborating with dispatchers to optimize load planning and driver availability.
You'll need solid experience in fleet management, driver relations, or transportation operations, with a working knowledge of HOS regulations, DOT compliance, and TMS systems. The company emphasizes a people-first approach over pure metrics management—they're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships with drivers and can juggle multiple priorities without losing attention to detail. Success means low turnover, high morale, clean compliance records, and a reputation as someone drivers trust and leadership can rely on.
This role suits someone who sees driver support as central to business performance and wants direct impact on retention and fleet health. It's full-time, in-office in Tampa, and part of a growing operation where strong operational and safety teams already exist.
