About this role
At SonicWall, this Senior Solutions Engineer role bridges technical depth and sales strategy, positioning you as the expert advisor customers and channel partners turn to when designing security infrastructure. You'll spend roughly 70% of your time in the field—either remote or from a regional office in Ohio—with up to 30% travel, working directly with customers, VARs, MSPs, and MSSPs to translate their business challenges into technical solutions. Your days will mix product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, whiteboarding sessions, and technical presentations alongside relationship building and revenue contribution.
The role demands a rare combination: you need genuine cybersecurity technical chops across networking, firewalls, cloud platforms, identity, and zero trust architectures, but equally important is your ability to communicate those concepts to both technical teams and executive stakeholders. You'll partner closely with sales, product management, and support teams, which means strong organizational skills and the confidence to lead technical engagements independently matter as much as your hands-on knowledge. A CISSP is required; Azure or AWS certifications and SonicWall-specific credentials are preferred (with training available).
This suits someone who finds the intersection of deep technical work and customer engagement energizing—someone who enjoys solving complex problems but gets equally motivated by building relationships and closing deals. You'll need at least six years in pre-sales, technical support, professional services, or solution engineering within a cybersecurity vendor or systems integrator environment.
