About this role

Farnsworth Group is looking for a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead transportation planning and design work across their Nashville office. You'd oversee QC/QA on roadway and street projects for local, state, and national clients, mentor engineering staff, manage client relationships, and balance budgets and schedules across multiple concurrent projects. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on technical work and people leadership, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines while staying involved in the engineering itself.

The position requires 15+ years of transportation experience with an Illinois PE license and a strong track record working with IDOT, county, and local agencies. You'll need proven leadership ability, comfort managing multiple projects simultaneously, and fluency with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, CONNECT, and ORD. This is best suited for someone who wants to grow a team while remaining technically engaged rather than moving into pure management.

Farnsworth Group offers a hybrid arrangement in Nashville, standard benefits including 401(k) matching up to 5%, health and wellness coverage, and professional development support. The firm has held Great Place to Work certification for eleven consecutive years and employs over 650 professionals across 24 offices.
