About this role

Farnsworth Group is looking for a Process Project Engineer to design systems for semiconductor and high-purity manufacturing facilities. You'd lead or support process design across multidisciplinary projects, managing client relationships, preparing proposals, performing equipment and piping calculations, and handling CAD/BIM documentation and construction deliverables. The role also involves budgeting and financial tracking, with travel to sites comprising about 25% of your time.

This position requires at least 10 years of hands-on experience in process design or construction for chemical, water, wastewater, or gas systems—ideally with exposure to microelectronics or wafer facilities. You'll need a bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering, solid grounding in thermodynamics and fluid dynamics, and proficiency with P&IDs, AutoCAD, and Revit. A PE license is preferred but you'll be expected to obtain one within 1–2 years if you don't already hold it. Knowledge of design codes like ASME and ASHRAE, plus familiarity with instrumentation and controls, will strengthen your candidacy.

Farnsworth Group is a 650-person architectural and engineering firm with 11 consecutive Great Place to Work certifications. The Boise role is hybrid and includes a comprehensive benefits package: 401(k) matching up to 5%, medical/dental/vision coverage, disability insurance, parental leave, professional development support, and wellness reimbursements. The firm emphasizes work-life balance and a collaborative, safety-focused culture.
