About this role

At Farnsworth Group, this role puts you at the center of transportation projects as both a technical lead and client manager. You'll own project schedules and deliverables across multiple assignments—from street and highway design through permitting and construction oversight—while serving as the primary point of contact for clients. The position blends hands-on engineering work (you may be the Engineer of Record) with business development support, site visits, and presentations, giving you real autonomy to shape project outcomes.

You'll need at least five years in transportation or traffic engineering, a PE license, and a strong foundation in civil engineering fundamentals. Experience with TDOT and local agency projects is valued, as is familiarity with MicroStation, CONNECT, and ORD. Beyond technical skills, the role demands the ability to juggle multiple projects, lead and collaborate with engineers and technicians, and manage client relationships effectively.

Farnsworth Group is a 650-person firm with 24 offices that's held Great Place to Work certification for eleven consecutive years. The Nashville position is hybrid and comes with a full benefits package including 401(k) matching up to 5%, comprehensive health coverage, professional development support, and paid time off—reflecting their stated commitment to work-life balance and employee growth.
