About this role
Farnsworth Group is building out its Phoenix office and seeking an experienced architect to lead that growth as an Architectural Manager or Sr. Architectural Manager. You'd operate as a seller-doer—generating new work, nurturing client relationships, and delivering projects while also building and mentoring a local team. The role blends hands-on technical leadership with business development: you'd manage projects across municipal, higher education, and commercial sectors; oversee proposal development and RFP responses; drive marketing strategy and budgets; and partner with leadership across the firm to execute regional strategy.
This position suits an architect with 15+ years of experience, a strong track record in business development, and demonstrated success building client relationships in your core markets. You'll need an Arizona architecture license, a NAAB-accredited degree, and proven skills in project management, team leadership, and navigating the consulting services business. An entrepreneurial mindset is essential—you're expected to identify opportunities, take ownership of growth, and think strategically about the market.
Farnsworth Group offers the stability of a 650-person firm that's been Great Place to Work certified for eleven consecutive years, backed by solid benefits including 401(k) matching, comprehensive insurance, professional development, and a hybrid work program. This is a contract role based in Phoenix requiring in-office presence.
