About this role

Burgess & Niple's survey team is looking for a technician to support infrastructure projects across a range of disciplines—boundary surveys, right-of-way work, topographic mapping, and route studies. You'll spend time both in the field and in the office, operating GPS, drones, and LiDAR equipment while working under a licensed Professional Surveyor. The role involves deed research, CAD work to process survey data, utility coordination, and regular communication with designers and government agencies. This is a hands-on position where you'll develop practical skills with modern surveying technology while contributing directly to projects that affect communities.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or a related ABET-accredited program, with LSIT registration or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire. You should be comfortable with CAD and survey software, have solid organizational and communication skills, and be willing to travel as needed. A proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving matters here, as does a genuine interest in pursuing Professional Land Surveyor licensure down the road. If you're looking to build a surveying career with a firm that values technical growth and meaningful work, this Louisville-based role offers that foundation.
