About this role
Trilon Group's Professional Engineer - Roadway role offers genuine ownership of transportation projects from conception through delivery, working across freeways, highways, interchanges, and shared-use trails. You'll lead the roadway design discipline on multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with other engineers and subconsultants, and support project managers on client and stakeholder relations. The work spans design, analysis, specifications, cost estimation, and plan preparation—drawing on AASHTO standards, Bentley or Autodesk software, and DOT procedures.
This position suits someone with 5–10 years of roadway engineering experience and a current or soon-to-be PE license. You'll need solid technical grounding in geometric design and civil software, with drainage or traffic experience valued as a bonus. Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail matter as much as technical skill, since you're coordinating across disciplines and managing timelines and budgets.
The company emphasizes growth tailored to your interests—whether toward project management, deeper technical work, or a hybrid path—backed by mentorship and project variety. Benefits include a 401(k) match, comprehensive health coverage, generous PTO, and paid professional development and licensing support. The unmatched comp time policy lets you convert overtime into additional pay or PTO, and the role is full-time, in-office in Phoenix.
