About this role
Trilon Group (operating as Horrocks) is seeking a Professional Engineer to lead roadway design projects across the full lifecycle, from initial planning through final specifications and cost estimates. You'll work on diverse transportation infrastructure—freeways, interchanges, urban and rural roads, and trails—collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while managing client relations and coordinating subconsultants under a Project Manager's direction. This role offers genuine ownership: you'll shape both individual projects and your own career path, with mentorship supporting movement toward project management, technical specialization, or a hybrid trajectory.
The position requires a PE license (or ability to obtain one within a year), a civil engineering degree, and 5–10 years of roadway transportation experience. You'll need solid proficiency in Bentley and/or Autodesk software, working knowledge of AASHTO geometric design and DOT standards, and strong communication skills. Drainage design or traffic engineering experience is valued but not required. Success here depends on self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across disciplines while keeping projects on budget and on schedule.
Horrocks offers competitive salary ($105,000–$150,000), comprehensive health coverage, generous PTO, a 50% 401(k) match up to 6%, and professional development support including paid licensure and memberships. The company also features an unmatched comp time policy: overtime hours can be taken as additional pay or banked as PTO. The role is full-time, in-office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
