About this role

Trilon Group is seeking a Utilities Engineer to lead utility infrastructure projects within large-scale transportation initiatives, based in Houston with hybrid flexibility. You'll own projects from conception through completion, directing teams of engineers, designers, and field personnel while managing design phases, coordinating utility relocations across federal and local agencies, and troubleshooting complex engineering and construction challenges. The role requires balancing technical depth with project leadership—preparing reports, negotiating with clients and sub-consultants, and ensuring work meets specifications, codes, and budget constraints.

This position calls for a PE-licensed civil engineer with at least five years in transportation utility engineering, design, or construction. You should be comfortable with project management fundamentals, proficient in Microsoft Office, and ideally experienced with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads Designer. The salary range is $105,000 to $150,000, with an uncommon comp time policy that lets you convert overtime hours into additional pay or PTO. Benefits include standard medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) match up to 6%, paid professional memberships, and professional development support.
