About this role

Ocado Group is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to bridge their sales and engineering teams, designing bespoke Autonomous Mobile Robotic solutions for warehouse automation clients. You'll combine deep technical expertise in warehouse systems with client-facing consulting, translating complex automation concepts into practical, value-driven proposals. The role demands at least five years of hands-on experience in warehouse automation and mobile robotics, paired with proven ability to influence stakeholders from operational staff to C-suite executives.

Your day-to-day work spans multiple dimensions: accompanying sales on client visits to understand operational requirements, using simulation tools and industrial engineering principles to size and model systems, and creating detailed technical designs in Sketchup and AutoCAD. You'll develop Software Design Documents, conduct capacity planning and layout optimization analyses, and serve as the technical voice representing client needs within product and engineering discussions. This is a pre-sales and consulting role, not a hands-on implementation position, though you'll provide technical support during delivery to ensure solutions meet specifications.

Success in this position requires fluency in warehouse management systems, control systems, and supply chain planning integrations, combined with strong data analysis and presentation skills. You'll need to balance multiple priorities across cross-functional teams while maintaining client relationships and adapting your communication style to different audiences. The role is contract-based and remote, based in the UAE.
