About this role

Fischer Homes is looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join their Erlanger, Kentucky office on a full-time, in-person basis. You would develop practical structural solutions for new and existing homes, working across multiple internal teams—construction, architecture, MEP, estimating, and warranty—to ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and cost-effective. The role balances independent technical work with responsiveness to field needs, requiring you to design structural components, produce repair drawings, conduct site visits to troubleshoot construction issues, and perform code analysis against the IRC and IBC.

This position suits someone with a civil or architectural engineering degree and one to three years of residential construction experience who holds their FE certification. You should be comfortable investigating field problems, communicating findings clearly to non-engineering teams, and applying sound judgment to resolve real-world construction challenges before they delay schedules. The role also involves drafting and maintaining the company's detail library and supporting MEP design work, with an expectation that you'll use company-approved tools—including AI—thoughtfully and with accuracy checks in place.

Fischer Homes offers professional development, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, competitive pay, 401(k) matching with profit-sharing, and inclusive leave benefits as part of their commitment to supporting employee growth and long-term career success.
