Description
Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single person’s daily commute to reducing humanity’s collective environmental footprint — we’ve got huge goals.
As an Expansion Working Student, you’ll get a front-row seat to how Via launches and scales new markets around the world. You’ll gain hands-on experience across entrepreneurship, Operations, Product, and Marketing, work on real projects, learn from experienced teammates, and see how different teams come together to bring new ideas to life.
And no two launches look the same. One week, you might be helping launch an on-demand service alongside electric buses; the next, supporting a new university shuttle or an entire city transit system. That’s what makes Expansion so exciting: you’ll get to see the many different ways Via is reimagining public transportation.
Based in either Paris or Berlin, you’ll support the launch and growth of our services in Germany while also contributing to expansion projects across Via’s global markets.
This is a working student position with 20 hours per week, starting as soon as possible, ideally in October or November. We're also open to full-time interns (40 hours/week) for 6 months.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the project planning required to set up Via-enabled mobility services for new partners
- Lead testing efforts for our new global launches, providing ongoing support as needed to enable and promote project success
- Ensure that our engineering team is getting the feedback they need to build the best product possible
- Tap Via’s in-house product, operational, and marketing knowledge base to help partners get the most out of our technology, while contributing to our scaling growth
- Work collaboratively with our Berlin team, as well as other Via teammates in Paris, London, Berlin, and New York, to test and implement product improvements
Who You Are:
- Entrepreneurial and a proactive problem solver; you don’t accept the status quo and are always looking for creative solutions
- Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously and comfortable taking on responsibility
- Willing to wear multiple hats and work on projects of all types
- Excellent communicator with the ability to adjust to a variety of stakeholders
- Eager and available to travel for field tests when needed
- Fluency in English and German (C2 or above) is required
What We Offer:
- Joining a global employer with 1,000+ mobility deployments across 40+ countries
- Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good:
- We are one of 17 Ventures That Embody the U.N.’s 17 Sustainability Goals.

About this role
Via is transforming public transportation through technology, and this role offers a direct window into how that happens across different markets. As an Expansion Working Student, you'll support the launch and scaling of Via's services in Germany while contributing to broader expansion projects globally. Your work will span project planning, product testing, partner support, and cross-functional collaboration—meaning you might spend one week helping launch an on-demand service with electric buses and the next supporting a university shuttle or city transit system. You'll report to the Berlin office but work alongside teams in Paris, London, and New York.
The position demands someone entrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity who can juggle multiple priorities and communicate effectively across different stakeholders. You'll need fluent English and German (C2 level), a willingness to travel for field testing, and the ability to wear multiple hats. The role is structured as either 20 hours per week (working student) or a full-time 6-month internship at €15/hour, starting ideally in October or November.
This suits someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to operations, product, and marketing in a scaling company with real-world impact. You'll work in Via's Berlin office with regular team meals and access to a global organization that operates over 1,000 deployments across 40+ countries.
