Description
Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single person’s daily commute to reducing humanity’s collective environmental footprint — we’ve got huge goals.
As an Expansion Intern, you’ll get a front-row seat to how Via launches and scales new markets around the world. You’ll gain hands-on experience across entrepreneurship, Operations, Product, and Marketing, work on real projects, learn from experienced teammates, and see how different teams come together to bring new ideas to life.
And no two launches look the same. One week, you might be helping launch an on-demand service alongside electric buses; the next, supporting a new university shuttle or an entire city transit system. That’s what makes Expansion so exciting: you’ll get to see the many different ways Via is reimagining public transportation.
Based in either Paris or Berlin, you’ll support the launch and growth of our services in Germany while also contributing to expansion projects across Via’s global markets.
This is a full-time internship (40 hours/week) for 6 months, starting as soon as possible, ideally in October or November. We're also open to working students.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the project planning required to set up Via-enabled mobility services for new partners
- Lead testing efforts for our new global launches, providing ongoing support as needed to enable and promote project success
- Ensure that our engineering team is getting the feedback they need to build the best product possible
- Tap Via’s in-house product, operational, and marketing knowledge base to help partners get the most out of our technology, while contributing to our scaling growth
- Work collaboratively with our Berlin team, as well as other Via teammates in Paris, London, Berlin, and New York, to test and implement product improvements
Who You Are:
- Entrepreneurial and a proactive problem solver; you don’t accept the status quo and are always looking for creative solutions
- Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously and comfortable taking on responsibility
- Willing to wear multiple hats and work on projects of all types
- Excellent communicator with the ability to adjust to a variety of stakeholders
- Eager and available to travel for field tests when needed
- Fluency in English and German (C2 or above) is required
What We Offer:
- Joining a global employer with 1,000+ mobility deployments across 40+ countries
- Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good:
- We are one of 17 Ventures That Embody the U.N.’s 17 Sustainability Goals.

About this role
Via is transforming public transportation through technology, and this internship puts you directly into that work. You'll spend six months supporting the launch and scaling of mobility services across new markets—primarily Germany, but with visibility into Via's global expansion efforts. The role is genuinely varied: one week you might be planning a new on-demand service, the next testing a university shuttle system or city transit partnership. You'll work across Operations, Product, and Marketing, gathering feedback from field tests, coordinating with engineering teams, and helping partners maximize Via's platform.
This suits someone entrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity who can juggle multiple projects at once. You'll need fluent English and German (C2 level), strong communication skills to work across stakeholders in Berlin, Paris, London, and New York, and a willingness to travel for field testing. The role demands proactive problem-solving and the ability to take ownership across different project types without a rigid playbook.
The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for six months starting October or November, based in Via's Berlin office. Compensation is €15/hour (€2,300–2,400 gross monthly), and working students are welcome. You'll be part of a company operating 1,000+ deployments across 40+ countries with recognition for social impact alignment.
