About this role

Trilon Group is looking for a Senior Transportation Planner to lead active transportation and multimodal projects across Utah and the Intermountain West. You would manage the full lifecycle of trail, shared-use path, and complete streets initiatives—from corridor and feasibility studies through NEPA/PEL planning efforts. This combines technical work with higher-level project leadership: you'll analyze transportation and land use data, prepare reports and studies, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and guide public engagement and stakeholder coordination.

The role requires at least 15 years in transportation planning or multimodal project development, a bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation planning, civil engineering, or a related field, and strong proficiency in GIS and transportation analysis tools. You should be comfortable presenting technical information clearly to clients and public audiences, managing project scope and budgets, and mentoring junior staff. Experience with trail planning, corridor studies, state DOTs, MPOs, or local agencies is preferred.

Based in Denver and full-time in-office, the position offers a salary range of $120,000 to $170,000, flexible comp time (overtime paid or banked as PTO), medical and dental coverage, generous paid time off, a 401(k) match, and professional development support including paid memberships and licensure assistance.
