Description
Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
We're looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to build and run the program operating system for Figma's growing Internal AI Tooling portfolio. Reporting into the CIO PMO and embedded within the team driving this work, you'll partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to translate an emerging roadmap into coordinated, secure, and scalable capabilities used across Figma — bringing together Engineering, Security, Legal, Procurement, Data Engineering, Business Systems, IT, Enablement, and business teams.
You'll create clarity across this system by establishing lightweight planning and governance, aligning teams around shared milestones and decisions, and ensuring initiatives move from intake through release and operational handoff with clear ownership and measurable outcomes — shaping not only what gets delivered, but also how Figma evaluates, builds, releases, and operates internal AI capabilities as the portfolio grows.
The ideal candidate can bring structure to an ambiguous, fast-moving environment without introducing unnecessary process, and can lead complex work through influence rather than direct authority.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
- Translate the Product Manager's roadmap and prioritized outcomes into integrated program plans, milestones, release schedules, decision points, and clear ownership
- Manage execution of the Internal AI Tooling roadmap across technical teams and business stakeholders
- Operationalize a transparent intake and routing process so requests have a defined problem, expected business outcome, delivery path, risk profile, and accountable owner before work begins
- Establish and facilitate lightweight planning and execution cadences, including program reviews, dependency reviews, decision forums, release-readiness reviews, and stakeholder updates
- Maintain an integrated view of dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, and decisions, driving timely resolution or escalation when work is blocked
- Coordinate security reviews, legal and procurement milestones, data dependencies, vendor commitments, and business-system integrations so these workstreams are engaged at the appropriate stage of delivery
- Ensure releases have appropriate acceptance criteria, operational ownership, support processes, runbooks, escalation paths, and feedback loops before handoff
- Partner with Product and stakeholders to define measurable outcomes and provide clear reporting on delivery health, adoption readiness, operational performance, and realized impact
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 5+ years of technical program management, or technical delivery experience in a cloud, SaaS, enterprise-technology, or internal-tools environment
- Demonstrated experience leading complex programs across Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Data, Business Systems, Operations, and business stakeholders
- A track record of translating product roadmaps into integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, decision points, release schedules, and measurable outcomes while maintaining clear ownership boundaries between Product, Program, and Engineering
- Technical fluency with enterprise systems, APIs, integrations, data flows, platform dependencies, identity and access, and software-delivery lifecycles. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be able to engage credibly in technical planning and tradeoff conversations
- Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, with the ability to establish lightweight governance, present concise decisions and risks, and create accountability without relying on direct authority
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
- Direct experience delivering internal AI tooling, platform, or product programs in a rapidly evolving technology environment
- Experience with responsible AI, model governance, security, privacy, compliance, or AI risk-management frameworks
- Familiarity with enterprise SaaS, middleware, low-code or no-code automation, identity platforms, data platforms, vendor evaluation, or procurement processes
- Experience with change management, enablement, enterprise adoption, Product Operations, or establishing a new program-management practice in an emerging organization
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

About this role
Figma is seeking a Technical Program Manager to establish and operate the program management function for its Internal AI Tooling portfolio. Reporting to the CIO PMO, you'll work at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Data, and business teams to translate an emerging roadmap into coordinated, scalable capabilities. The role demands someone who can bring structure to a fast-moving, ambiguous environment without over-engineering process—establishing lightweight planning cadences, maintaining visibility across dependencies and risks, and driving execution through influence rather than direct authority.
Your core responsibilities center on translating product strategy into integrated plans with clear milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes. You'll operationalize intake and routing processes, facilitate planning and review forums, coordinate cross-functional workstreams including security and procurement, and ensure releases are operationally ready before handoff. This requires both strategic thinking—defining what success looks like and reporting on delivery health and impact—and tactical execution across a complex web of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings five or more years of technical program management or delivery experience in cloud, SaaS, or enterprise environments, with demonstrated ability to lead programs spanning Product, Engineering, Security, and business functions. You'll need technical fluency to engage credibly in planning conversations without necessarily being an engineer, plus strong communication and facilitation skills. Experience with internal AI tooling, responsible AI frameworks, or establishing new program-management practices is valued but not required. The role is full-time, based in San Francisco or New York, with a salary range of $169,000–$245,000.
