About this role
Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis is expanding its cardiac anesthesia service and seeking a board-certified or board-eligible physician to join an established 12-person team. You would provide anesthetic care across two suburban hospitals with a high-acuity, high-volume practice—over 1,300 open hearts annually—covering valve surgery, major aortic cases, structural interventions (TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman), CABG, robotic thoracic procedures, and a growing transplant and LVAD program. The case mix is broad and clinically rich, offering substantial exposure across the full spectrum of cardiac and thoracic anesthesia.
Call is taken from home on a 1:12 rotation with post-call time off, and this is a full-time employed position within a nonprofit health system. You must hold or be eligible for Indiana medical licensure and DEA registration, be board certified or eligible in cardiac anesthesia, and have completed fellowship training. Ascension emphasizes physician-led collaboration, practice stability, and mission-centered care within a national Catholic health system that maintains local autonomy.
This role suits an anesthesiologist seeking robust surgical volume, diverse cases, and the stability of an established academic medical center in a major metropolitan area.
