About this role
Scout Motors is building electrified versions of an iconic American vehicle, and this role sits at the center of a critical supply chain challenge. As Senior Specialist for Battery Cells purchasing, you'll own the North America sourcing strategy and supplier relationships for battery cells across Scout's Range Extender Electric Vehicle production. This means leading RFQ processes, negotiating contracts, managing supplier industrialization, and acting as program manager through pre-production—working across quality, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure suppliers are ready for mass production on time, on budget, and to spec.
The role demands someone with 3–8 years in manufacturing or automotive purchasing, ideally with prior experience as a Project or Series Buyer. You'll need strong negotiation skills specific to automotive commodities, program management experience, and the analytical rigor to handle cost analysis and technical change evaluation. Equally important are your stakeholder skills: the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships, communicate across all organizational levels, and operate independently in a fast-moving environment while staying collaborative.
Based in Novi, Michigan, you'll spend four days per week in the office with occasional travel. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation between $110,000 and $135,000, along with health insurance and benefits supporting physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
