About this role

Adyen's Deal Desk is seeking an Associate Commercial Counsel to lead vendor and partnership negotiations across the company's global operations. You'll draft and review complex, multi-jurisdictional contracts, develop negotiation playbooks, and train internal teams on commercial strategy—working directly with procurement, partnerships, product, and regulatory groups. The role demands someone who can balance legal rigor with business pragmatism, identifying and mitigating risks while helping the organization scale its contracting processes.

This position suits a lawyer with at least three years of in-house or firm experience in commercial contracting and transactional work. You should be comfortable working autonomously across functions, communicating complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders, and thriving in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and genuinely curious about improving processes—someone who sees legal work not as a constraint but as a lever for business growth.

The role is based in Amsterdam and requires in-office presence. It's a contract position within a fintech platform serving major global clients, offering the chance to work on sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional deals at scale.
