Pay Rate: $19/Hour
BAYADA Habilitation is looking for a Habilitation Technician to work as a Companion/Buddy to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop and maintain as much independence as possible in the local community.
This is a rewarding opportunity for those who are passionate about helping people with disabilities achieve their goals and live their best lives. How You’ll Make an Impact:

Build long lasting relationships in a one-on-one setting a few hours a week.

Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities, like Special Olympics.

Support clients in developing their independence and achieving their goals (e.g., budgeting, socializing, shopping, using public transportation, exercise)

Be attentive to meet the individual’s needs with dignity and respect.

Ensure client safety and well-being in the home and community.

Have fun on Oahu as a supportive Buddy!

About this role
BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking Habilitation Technicians to serve as Companions and Buddies for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Oahu. In this part-time role, you'll build one-on-one relationships with clients a few hours per week, supporting them in activities they enjoy—from Special Olympics to community outings—while helping them develop independence in practical areas like budgeting, socializing, and using public transportation. The work centers on meeting people's needs with dignity and respect while ensuring their safety and well-being.
No prior experience is required; you'll receive paid training and be matched with clients based on your skills and availability. BAYADA emphasizes flexible scheduling and short commutes within your local community. The position pays $19 per hour with weekly pay, a $1,000 sign-on bonus, and includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, FSA and HSA options), PTO, a 401(k) with company match, employer-paid life insurance, and an employee assistance program. You'll also have access to scholarship and development opportunities and free courses.
