About this role
Muon Space's electrical engineering internship offers hands-on involvement in spacecraft electronics development at a rapidly growing aerospace startup in San Jose. You'd own projects across the full design cycle—whether that means developing new avionics tests, designing PCBAs for payload capabilities, or supporting both hardware and firmware development. The work spans the bench and clean room, combining design, testing, and analysis with direct mentorship from experienced aerospace professionals in a small team environment where your contributions directly shape the company's programs.
The role suits juniors or seniors pursuing an EE degree (or seniors heading into a graduate program) who have foundational skills with schematic capture tools like Altium or KiCAD, lab equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters, and basic programming in C/C++ or Python. Prior experience on technical project teams, previous internships, or hands-on skills like soldering and battery characterization are valued but not required. The internship runs full-time and on-site from May through September depending on your university schedule, with pay starting at $40/hour for bachelor's-level candidates.
Note that this position requires U.S. person status or export authorization eligibility due to ITAR/EAR regulations on spacecraft technology.
