Summer 2027 Internship Program

Brookfield, WI (On-Site) - Application window October 2nd - October 23rd

Kickstart Your Career In The Dynamic World Of Finance And Wealth Management!
Our internship program is designed to give emerging professionals meaningful exposure to real client work, hands-on learning, and the chance to build confidence in a fast-moving, team-driven environment. It’s built to help you stretch, learn, and discover what you’re capable of. Throughout the summer, you’ll strengthen your technical skills, deepen your understanding of wealth management, and contribute to work that matters. We expect you to bring a genuine curiosity, not be afraid to ask questions, collaborate with experienced professionals.

Intern Group Project | Hands-on, collaborative experience designed to provide you with a tangible professional deliverable. Working together as a team, you'll apply the skills you're learning while creating a valuable asset for Annex. This project is a chance to make a real impact on our company and showcase your abilities.

Intern Outings | As part of your internship at Annex, you can look forward to a number of social outings throughout the summer. These events are a great opportunity to get to know your fellow interns, connect with our employees, and experience the culture of Annex outside of the office.

Department Shadowing | The goal of Department Shadowing is to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of how each department operates within Annex and expose you to different functions and roles within the department. It is also an opportunity for you to gain insight into the industry and network with experienced professionals, which can help you in your future career endeavors. This will be a 1/2 day in each department, including compliance and retirement services, with all the interns.

Rotations | You will also have rotations through Business Development (Alpha, and Wealth Advisors) and Investments (Trading and Research).

Leadership Lunches | Many Thursdays, you and all the interns get to share lunch with an Annex leader and dive into the world of leadership, career development, and industry trends. Come prepared with questions - these leaders are ready to share their personal journeys, offer invaluable career advice, and spark insightful discussions. This is your chance to sharpen your networking skills and gain a unique perspective of the industry.

Annex Podcast | The ‘Intern Survival Guide’ podcast is your platform, your voice, & your vision. We'll provide guidance, resources, and a structured format, but the content, production, promotion, and creative spark - that's all you! As a team, you'll brainstorm topics, interview Annex's staff, and explore what matters to future finance leaders like yourselves. It can be about your journey too, not just finance content. While this will require dedication, time and effort, the skills you hone and the unique content you create will be powerful resume boosters and conversation starters in future interviews.

Presentation | The capstone presentation is a culmination of your experience and learnings during your internship. It will be presented at a Monday Morning Meeting at the end of your internship program. This provides you with an opportunity to share your accomplishments and reflect on what you have learned.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!

Once you hit APPLY, you will be prompted to do the following: please complete the video response section below. This is the most important part of your application. Try and keep this under 3 minutes-ish. Your submission cannot be considered for further review or interviews unless your video responses are completed. If you experience any issues with submitting, please contact Mack George directly.

Review the four questions carefully. You will only be answering a total of 2 questions. Follow the instructions below to record and upload your responses:

  1. (Required) Introduce Yourself - Share your name, school, major, and expected graduation date
  2. Pick 1 of the following:
  • What originally drew you to your major or field of study? What has kept you interested as you've progressed through the program?
  • Tell us about a project, class, or experience in college where you felt excited by the work you were doing. What made it meaningful to you.
  • What do you think makes you stand out among other students in your major? Why do you feel you'd thrive at Annex? Share the qualities, experiences, or personality traits that make you uniquely you.

How do I record my video responses?

Step 1 — Record your video

Use your phone or laptop — whatever is easiest.

  • Sit in a quiet spot with light facing you.
  • Play the first few seconds to make sure your audio is clear.

Step 2 — Upload to YouTube

Sign in at youtube.com or the YouTube app with any Google account.

  • On a computer: click the camera icon - Upload video
  • On a phone: tap the + Upload a video
  • Title it with your full name (example: Jane Smith – Internship Video).

Step 3 — Set visibility to Unlisted

This is the most important step.

  • Choose Unlisted, not Private. Unlisted means only people with the link can view it. Private means our team cannot open it, and your application will be marked incomplete.

Step 4 — Copy your video link

Use the Share button or your browser’s address bar. It should look like one of these:

Step 5 — Test your link, then submit

Open the link in an incognito/private window.

  • If it plays without asking you to sign in, you’re good.
  • If it asks for access, switch the visibility to Unlisted.

Before you submit:

  • The video is set to Unlisted
  • The link works in an incognito window
  • The title includes your full name
  • Leave the video up until you hear back from us

About this role

Annex Wealth Management's summer internship program offers emerging finance professionals a structured introduction to wealth management through a mix of rotations, collaborative projects, and direct exposure to experienced leaders. You'll move through departments including Business Development and Investments, participate in department shadowing across compliance and retirement services, and work on a group project that delivers real value to the firm. The program balances hands-on learning with relationship-building through leadership lunches, social outings, and networking with established professionals across the organization.

Beyond traditional rotation work, you'll take on creative and communication responsibilities as part of the intern team—producing a podcast called the "Intern Survival Guide" where you'll interview staff, develop content, and build something for your portfolio. The internship culminates in a capstone presentation where you'll reflect on what you've learned and share your accomplishments with company leadership.

The application requires a video component: a brief introduction of yourself plus responses to one of several prompts about your background, interests, or what makes you a fit for Annex. The video must be uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted link before your application can move forward. Applications open October 2nd and close October 23rd for the summer 2027 program, based in Brookfield, Wisconsin on-site.
