About this role

DLR Group's Charlotte studio is hiring an electrical engineering intern for a structured 11-week summer program (May 18–August 6, 2027) that combines hands-on project work with professional development. You'll work alongside licensed electrical engineers on real building projects—from early design through construction documents—using Revit to develop electrical systems for new construction and renovations. The role includes attending design meetings with multidisciplinary teams, observing how different disciplines coordinate, and potentially visiting active construction sites.

The internship is part of DLR Group's Emerging Professional Experience (EPX) Program, which pairs your project assignments with weekly learning sessions covering topics like design culture, sustainability, technology, and career development. You'll have mentorship from experienced professionals and build connections with other interns, gaining exposure to how an integrated design firm operates across architecture, engineering, interiors, and other disciplines.

To apply, you need to have completed at least one year of an ABET-accredited electrical or architectural engineering program and have experience or interest in BIM workflows, particularly Revit MEP. Passing the FE exam and interest in architectural building design are preferred. This is a paid, full-time position requiring in-office attendance in Charlotte for the full duration.
