About this role
Trilon Group is seeking a Senior Traffic Operations Engineer with a PE license to lead transportation projects across Idaho, working from their Meridian office on a hybrid basis. You'd take on technical leadership for mid to large-scale traffic operations work—conducting corridor and intersection analyses, developing signal timing strategies, and using simulation tools like Synchro, Vissim, and Aimsun to optimize network performance. The role involves coordinating with state and local agencies including ITD, ACHD, and Treasure Valley municipalities, preparing technical documentation, and mentoring junior staff.
This position requires at least 10 years in traffic engineering with a strong operations focus, a civil engineering degree, and an active PE license (or ability to obtain one in Idaho). A PTOE certification is preferred. You should have hands-on experience with traffic modeling tools, signal coordination, and familiarity with ITD standards and local agency practices. The company values leadership experience and established relationships with regional transportation agencies.
Trilon Group offers a salary range of $120,000–$160,000 with a flexible comp time policy—hours over 40 per week can be paid out or banked as PTO. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off, a 401(k) with 50% match up to 6%, professional development funding, and paid memberships for licensure and professional organizations.
