About this role

With 7–9 years of drainage engineering experience, you'd be stepping into a role where you lead the full lifecycle of stormwater and flood mitigation projects—from initial planning through construction support. You'll own technical design work using industry-standard modeling software, manage regulatory coordination with municipalities and agencies, and drive solutions that balance hydraulic performance with constructability. The position sits at a level where you're expected to mentor junior staff, review their work, and contribute to how the firm approaches drainage problems internally.

The day-to-day involves hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, preparing technical reports and specifications, coordinating across civil, transportation, and environmental teams, and managing project components from concept through delivery. You'll also handle contractor submittals, respond to design questions in the field, and work with both public and private sector clients. A PE license (or active progress toward one) and strong command of software like HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, and InfoDrainage are essential.

Trilon Group offers a competitive salary band of $105,000–$125,000, solid benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, generous PTO, a 401(k) match, and support for professional development and licensure. The role is full-time and in-office in Meridian, Idaho.
