About this role
With 7–9 years of drainage and stormwater engineering experience, you'd be stepping into a role that balances technical design work with leadership responsibilities. At Horrocks, you'd lead the planning and delivery of drainage infrastructure projects for both public and private clients, managing everything from concept through construction support. The work centers on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software like HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, and InfoDrainage, alongside preparing technical reports, calculations, and specifications that meet local and national standards. You'd also coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and handle client and regulatory interactions.
This position suits someone with a PE license (or actively pursuing one) who is comfortable working independently on assigned project components while contributing to broader team efforts. You'll need strong technical fundamentals in hydrology and hydraulics, the ability to interpret survey and geotechnical data, and solid communication skills for presenting findings and managing stakeholder approvals. The role emphasizes practical, buildable solutions and attention to detail.
Horrocks offers a competitive salary of $105,000–$125,000 along with comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off, a 401(k) with 50% match up to 6%, professional development support, and paid professional organization memberships.
