About this role
With 7–9 years of drainage and stormwater experience, you'd be stepping into a role where you lead the technical side of infrastructure projects from concept through construction. You'll design systems using industry-standard software like HEC-RAS and Civil 3D, manage regulatory compliance across local and national standards, and own project components end-to-end. The work spans both public and private clients, so you'll be coordinating across civil, transportation, structural, and environmental teams while handling everything from hydraulic modeling to contractor RFIs.
This position also carries mentorship responsibilities—you'll guide junior engineers and review their work to maintain quality standards. It's a blend of technical depth and project leadership, requiring you to communicate clearly with clients, municipalities, and internal teams while balancing design optimization with constructability. A PE license (or active progress toward one) and strong fundamentals in hydrology and hydraulics are essential.
Horrocks offers a salary range of $105,000–$125,000 alongside solid benefits: full medical, dental, and vision coverage, generous PTO, a 401(k) with 50% match up to 6%, and paid professional development and licensure support. The role is full-time and based in Albuquerque, working in-office.
