Located in one of the most desirable communities in the Kansas City metro, our loyal and expanding client base has created demand that our current team can't fully absorb. If you're a veterinarian who wants ownership in your career and practice, this is your chance to step into a practice that's already thriving and help carry its legacy forward.

Built over decades of quality medicine and genuine community connection, Mission Road offers more than a job. It offers a future: a defined path toward co-ownership and partnership for the right veterinarian who's ready to lead and build what comes next.

Built to Develop Leaders: Through VPP's dedicated Partnership Training Program, Leadership Academy, Clinical Skills Academy, and Peer Group support trainings, you'll build the skills to lead both clinically and as a business owner. These programs are designed to equip new, future, and established partners with the tools of partnership: what partnership at VPP truly means, a foundational understanding of core business concepts, and how to become a more effective partner and owner within your hospital.

Join a Powerful Community: You'll become part of a community of 200+ doctor partners, 100+ first-time owners, and 200 hospitals who collaborate and support each other.

Top-Tier Medicine: Practice progressive medicine at the highest level in a full-service hospital equipped with advanced tools, including Digital X-Ray and Dental radiography, in-house IDEXX labs, ultrasound, and Scribble Vet AI for efficient SOAP note documentation.

Established Practice, Real Legacy: Mission Road Animal Clinic has been a trusted name in Prairie Village for years. You're not building a caseload from scratch, you're stepping into an established legacy and helping carry it forward.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll see a steady, well-managed caseload of dogs and cats across wellness, diagnostics, medical management, and surgery. You'll be comfortable with routine soft tissue procedures and dentistry.

About this role

Veterinary Practice Partners is seeking a veterinarian ready to step into leadership at Mission Road Animal Clinic, an established Prairie Village practice with a loyal client base and real growth trajectory. This isn't a typical associate role—it's positioned as a pathway to co-ownership for someone with ambition and a growth mindset. You'd manage a steady caseload of companion animals (dogs and cats) across wellness, diagnostics, medical management, and routine surgery and dentistry, supported by a full-service facility with digital imaging, in-house labs, ultrasound, and modern documentation tools.

The role offers genuine structure and sustainability: a four-day work week that includes regular Saturday coverage, no on-call duties, and closed Sundays. Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $180,000 with flexible pay models, sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available, plus a comprehensive benefits package covering health insurance, retirement matching, generous PTO, CE allowance, and professional licensing fees. Beyond the immediate role, you'd gain access to VPP's Partnership Training Program, Leadership Academy, and a network of 200+ doctor partners across 100+ hospitals.

This opportunity suits a veterinarian with at least one year of small animal experience who wants to build clinical skills while working toward ownership in a thriving practice within one of the Kansas City metro's most desirable communities. If you're looking for a defined path to partnership rather than a permanent associate position, and you're ready to contribute to a practice's future, this role aligns with that trajectory.
